Saturday 31st March 2012

Saturday is here again, so fast!!!!!
But today is  a very special Saturday, it's my Dad's 70th Birthday;-)

Happy Birthday Dad

I can't post his cards on here yet as I'm taking them tonight,
but I will post tomorrow.....

Well today's card is another beautiful decoupage card from the paintbox poppets range

I have used hammered card for the base and white layers,
the pink is from the core'dinatons pink range.

I think the images are so pretty and detailed, and call out to be decoupaged
just to add a little life to them.

The flowers are from the local 'poundland'
My bargain flowers!!!!
I just added the stones in the middle to add a little bling

I have put this photo on so you can see how I layer my decoupage,
I don't like to much height so I used collall 3D glue gel
The height is important to get how you like it
But also with postage going up again it can save a fortune if you don't go to high!!!

Right I'm off to get kids ready to go see Grandad and Nanny
(Nanny also has had a big week, she took early retirement yesterday)

What a beautiful day

The weather is beautiful again here today, and even better the teachers strike isn't affecting my kids;-)

My card today is from the Popcorn The Bear Range
 from Crafters Companion

I hope you like it.....

As you can see the card is a retirement card for a male work friend of my Mum's.
I have used a Popcorn Bear stamp and 2 backing papers from the cd-rom.
Green is the favourite colour of the recipient, so I have used different shades.

I have coloured the stamped image with spectrium noir pens, and layered the image on to
dark green card.

I have used 2 bold backing papers, card candi and a flower pot button.

I used thick organza ribbon, and the message was typed on the computer
and printed, and again layered on the same dark green card.

This is the insert, I have matched the backing paper and insert.

This photo shows how the front and inside of the card match.

Enjoy the beautiful sunshine and have a very happy day

Oooooppppppsssss, been too long!!!!!!

Hello Everyone

Sorry I haven't blogged for a while, not sure why!!!!!!!
Maybe I've been busy lol

I hope you are all well and the sun is shinning where you are, it is beautiful here.
Well so far this morning I have walked the kids to school and taken Poppy for her walk around the park.
When I have updated on here I'm off to make some more cards, yippee crafty day for me;-)

Now Mother's Day has gone I can show you the cards I made for my Mum
I hope you like them...

This is the 1st one, this is the one I made for my Mum from myself and my husband

I decided to use an image from the paintbox poppets decoupage set.
This one is called 'listen with teddy'.

For the base card and layers I have used Centura Pearl card, I also stamped onto the card for
the sentiment, using a stamp from LOTV stamp sheet.

Rather than trying to match ribbon I used a thin piece of the pink card and threaded the heart
buckle on to it.

The other Mother's Day card is from my 3 children to Nanny (my Mum)

I used the docraft me to you digital designer.
I designed the whole thing on my laptop, and printed it off
then all I had to do was stick the 8x8 design on to base card and print off insert.

I used 3 of the characters for my 3 babies, and was able to add shadow and layer them all with the digital designer. A very quick card to make but was perfect for the kids.

Have a lovely day and enjoy the spring sun

Something 'New'

Morning Everyone

I hope you are all happy and healthy this Saturday morning.
It maybe a little miserable outside here in not so sunny Kent, but everyone in the house is happy.

It's that time again, yes Blog Challenge time:-)
Please pop over and join in the challenge

The theme for this month is

'Something New'

My DT post is this Disney cross stitch.
Definitely something new on here for me, even if I have been doing it since I was a teenager!!!!
Long before card making.........

This one took quite a long time to do, but I was really happy with the finished project.

On this picture you can see I have used a full cross stitch, plus the half stitch.
I am a sucker for anything Disney,
and with having the 3 children I can get to still love Disney;-)

I hope you like my something new and can pop over to
and join the challenge.

I will be back to a card for my next post:-)

Oooooh look what I have been awarded;-)

Oh wow, what a surprise!!! The very talented and wonderful Debbie @http://debbiescardcreations.blogspot.com/ has awarded me the Liebster award

Thank-you:-)

The idea of the LIEBSTER BLOG AWARD is to spread the love from one small blog (under 200 followers) to other small blogs. This helps to spread the knowledge and readership.

To accept the award, you must:

  1. Link back to the person who gave it and to thank them for thinking of you.
  2. Post the award to your blog.
  3. Give the award to 5 bloggers (with less than 200 followers) that you appreciate and value.
  4. Leave a comment on the blogs of the five people you have chosen to let them know. ‘Liebster’ in German means ‘dearest, so to carry on the Liebster tradition, I am going to pass this award on to 5 people whose blogs have been an inspiration to me.
